My son Zachary and I did Music Together^® when he was a toddler. He is now 6 years old. I always played the CDs in the car and he loved listening to the songs except for the goodbye song. He always made me skip over it. He said it was too sad. I am currently doing Music Together with my 1 year old, Nathan. The other day I had the CD playing when I picked Zachary up from school. I didn't even realize it but the goodbye song started playing. All of a sudden, Zachary started crying. When I asked him what happened and why he was crying, he said, I don't know. This song is just so sad to me. I couldn't believe that after 5+ years he still remembered the song and his feelings associated with it. Stephanie T.........Dallas

Our 45 minute classes meet once a week . Each semester includes new songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences--developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers--regardless of their own musical ability. Most classes are mixed ages, from birth through age 6. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the children, as we encourage family style learning. Everyone is welcome for this important family music experience. All children are special, and we welcome children with special needs! Since our classes have children of mixed ages, each child, no matter where they are developmentally, fits in. It is wonderful for ALL children and grownups to be able to participate in our classes and feel great about themselves in the process!

Mixed Ages

Birth to Kindergarten

This is the essential Music Together® class, one that a child can attend from birth through Kindergarten through all nine song collections. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience.

Babies

Birth to eight months

Every child’s development benefits from early exposure to music and movement. Because the early months are so important, Music Together offers two options for babies. Babies may also take the special “Babies Class” offered as a one-semester introduction to Music Together. (This class cannot be repeated.) The music activities and materials are specially designed for parents who want to learn as much as possible about music development in infants.
